"Anton Pulvirenti is a Sydney based artist who specialises in pencil, pastel and ink. Anton's work usually draws on family history and photography for its subject matter. However, direct observation is the most central aspect of Anton's practice. This can be seen especially in the suite of drawings made during the 2012 total eclipse in Cairns, from which the print 'Totality' derives. Anton has exhibited in Korea, Italy, Qatar, New Zealand and Australia. Anton is also a Maddonnari, or pavement artist. He recently competed in the Grazie Madonnari Chalk Festival in Northern Italy in August this year. Anton is also completing a PhD at Sydney University." |
