Access to observing locations along the path across Cape York are subject to poor roads and the foibles of weather. Like Arnhem Land, roads can become impassable in wet weather. The standard rental contract for rent-a-cars ex-Cairns ban you travelling north of Cape Tribulation in the Daintree National Park. That said, providing 2012 is a typical year, rain is unlikely. The Cape's weather is similar to Cairns.
