Weather Prospects for April 2014 celestial events


The following cloud cover map was generated on Saturday April 12th using Andrew Cool's  Skippy Sky website. Skippy sky uses the GFS model. Note that these models are not necessarily accurate this many days ahead of the event.  This model run indicates Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane might be clear while Sydney and the central coast are looking cloudy.  I have run these weather models either with the Air Resources lab tool which can display the model further ahead than skippy sky which has a better graphical output. The closer we get to the event, the better the weather is looking.   The Air Resources Laboratory site can generate meteograms out to 384 hrs. The model is even less reliable this far out. For what it's worth, these indicate the possibility of clear skies for the Venus event across much of Eastern Australia.
