Omega Centauri NGC 5139
Estimated to contain some 10 million stars, the light captured in this image of the Omega Centauri cluster left the stars not long after the peak of the last Ice Age on Earth, some 16 000 years ago. Omega Centauri is the brightest globular cluster in the sky and at magnitude 4 is an easy naked eye object from a reasonable suburban backyard. Captured in a heavily Moonlit sky a four days after full Moon, fifty 1 minute exposures were processed and stacked in Lightroom and Photoshop. Pentax K1 ISO 400 Pentax 300mm @ f4

"Old Rail Bridge"
Taken during a field night run for one of my Nightscape Courses. My class are the cluster of red lights on the right. I came back to this location to light paint the bridge for them. This image was taken after I finished the light painting and with all ambient light. Panorama of 3 x 60s images.
