Exposure and field of view diagrams
The exposure diagrams below have a table of values at a typical f-stop.  The diagram shows the size of the solar disk and  field of view for APS and full frame cameras of varoius extents of the corona.  For a short telephoto such as a 180mm or 300mm, even the limited field of an APS sensor covers the corona out to 8 solar radii.  But if you use a longer focal length objective such as the 1250mm example at the end, there is little point bracketing to expose the outer corona if it lies outside the camera sensor field of view.
